Dear Friends:
On behalf of the Archdiocesan Racial Harmony Implementation Committee, welcome
to our web site!
This committee was formed several years ago by Archbishop Alfred C. Hughes
in response to his pastoral letter, "Made in the Image and Likeness of
God." The committee's mission is to assist the Archdiocese, and its parishes
and schools to recognize in accordance with Vatican II that "every form
of social or cultural discrimination of fundamental personal rights on the grounds
of sex, race, color, social conditions, language or religion must be curbed
and eradicated as incompatible with God's designs."
With the full support of Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond, we stand ready to assist
your school, your parish and indeed this wonderful community in this mission.
Through prayer and active ministry we hope to "change hearts and minds
so that the rich blessings of multiculturalism, diversity and ethnic inclusion
will [not] only be appreciated," but will be a reality and a testimony
to the coming of God's kingdom!
Please visit our site from time-to-time and look for events and other points
of interest concerning our ministry. Also, if we can assist your parish or school
to help achieve this vision, please contact us.
We are committed to building a living community of respect and love-one that
is open to all and one which reflects the recognition that we are all God's
children because in our rich differences we reflect that we are all made in
God's image!
Peace and Blessings!
